Looking Back at 2016 - So Grateful | Happy New Year!

When I try to think about the best things about 2016, the first thing I think about are my travels. While there are a lot of other amazing things that have happened this year, the adventures with my friends, family, and coworkers are definitely the moments that stand out the most and they are they moments that I am most grateful for.

Family
Family is one of the things I rarely ever speak of. I throw a lot of tantrums and am a far from perfect daughter and sister but I really am extremely grateful for every single one of them.

Without my parents, I don't think I would even be here, living the life that I'm living now. They have taken me travelling, spoiled me, and loved me without expecting anything back. One day when I'm older and richer I'll send you money and travel home more often. ❤

Without my brothers, I don't think I would have been able to survive. Thank you so much for lending me a helping hand when I needed it. Also thank you for the crazy stories, including me in your late night drinking sessions, and just being be the best big brothers anyone could ever ask for. I'll try to be a better aunty to your kids (but please stop making babies, 20 presents for Christmas is murder to my wallet).

Some highlights from Christmas this year!

On the topic of family, I think it would be unfair to mention my host mom. :)

Friends

Ah, friends.

There's nothing like having a group of friends who can laugh, cry, and travel far distances with you. I'm happy to say I'm definitely blessed with great friends. Even though some of them live far away from me and we don't talk anymore, I take comfort in the fact that they'll be there for me while I'm passed out drunk and broke outside a bar. But that's beside the point hahaha.

Here are some fabulous moments from this year!
Negeri Sembilan with Geng Kemarau
Dargon Run with Geng Kemarau
Penang with Geng Kemarau
Austin Water Park, Johor
ONE OK ROCK Concert, Singapore
And not forgetting, when they made a birthday video for the Libras in our group.

Travel

2016 was also a year for lots of travel. I love travelling and the fact that I got to visit so many amazing places is really amazing to me. Whether it is travelling with friends, family or even going on a solo trip, travelling has always been a passion of mine. There's nothing like with immersing yourself in another culture or learning more about your own.

Some travel highlights of 2016:
Chew Jetty, Penang
Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang
Inokashira Park, Tokyo, Japan
Lighthouse at Taejondae, Busan, South Korea
Taejongdae, Busan, South Korea
Nami Island, South Korea

Overall, 2016 was a great year even despite all the horrible things going on around the world. I hope 2017 will be brighter still and I welcome it with open arms.

Happy New Year!
