Need a place to stay in Seoul? I definitely recommend staying at Roy's place!
Before you continue reading, I'd just like to note that I believe that Roy (the host) has a few different apartments in the same building. The apartment that my parents and I stayed in looked a little different from the one in the pictures but all the basic amenities and furniture are the same.
So, after our first stay at an Airbnb in Busan, I was pretty stoked about Seoul. I mean, if its anything like Chris' place, then it was definitely going to be a good stay.
And it was.
Location
If you don't follow the instructions Roy gives you, you will definitely get lost. The entrance is hidden so it can be quite confusing if you don't have his instructions out and ready for your referral.
This place is in no major area in Seoul but the train station literally connects you to many of the major sites including Myeong-dong, Hongdae, Itaewon, and there is even a direct train to the airport!
Apart from that, there are restaurants, bars, a bakery, two 24-hour convenience stores at the ground floor of the building. You will never go hungry. Trust me.
Our favourite (mostly because we couldn't be bothered to try anything else) is the Kimbap place run buy women right next to the convenience store. The name escapes me but it really is a good place to go. Service is great and food is amazing.
The Apartment
As I mentioned before, the apartment we got was a little different from the one that is shown on Roy's listing but I believe that it has all the amenities listed including the free Wi-Fi egg.
The Wi-Fi password and instructions to work the various appliances in the apartment are contained in the PDF file that Roy will share with you before your stay. Download it and keep it handy.
I have no problems with this place. It was very spacious and the foldout bed that I slept on was comfortable. There were many extra blankets and pillows in the cupboard too.
Bathroom
The bathroom is a little bigger than the one in Busan I believe.
It had a bathtub but did not have a shower curtain to keep the floor from getting wet. You can use the slippers outside to keep your feet from getting wet though.
Soap and shampoo. We actually ran out of shower gel when we were there and some of the products only had Korean words on them so my parents had a hard time differentiating what was what.
There was no replacement for the shower gel as the cupboard was just full of body lotion? I don't know why but it looks like they were stuff that people left behind.
I'm sure that he restocks them. It's just that it happened to run out when we were there.

Our host's name is Roy. Like Chris, we did not meet him personally but I did contact him a few times before and after our stay. Roy has good English and answers questions quickly. You'll find almost everything you need to know on the PDF he will send you.
