Uncle Cendol @ Brem Mall - More than Just Cendol

Uncle Cendol is a nice little store located at Brem Mall in Kepong. Although they do offer great cendol, that's not all they have on their menu!

It was around 4pm when I met up with Islam and Iday to head over to Brem Mall. I was super excited to meet other bloggers and of course to enjoy a good meal. (>w<)

The owner, Mr. Bashir comes from a family that has been making green jelly cendol for the past 50 years, which is why he decided to name his business Uncle Cendol. The business is still in it's infancy as the outlet just opened in January this year.

When we arrived, the food was already served and everyone had made themselves comfortable.

The first thing I noticed was the desserts. I have a large sweet tooth so my eyes automatically locked on to the brightly colored tower of ice and syrup. The ABC Ice cream was topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and was calling my name. haha

As tasty as it looks, it really was delicious. By the time we finished snapping our photos, the ice had already melted hahaha!

Something else you have to try at Uncle Cendol is their cendol of course! I highly recommend their Cendol Durian and Cendol Nata De Coco. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try their Cendol Pulut and Cendol Attap Seed, which are also very good.

Above is their Cendol Nata De Coco which has little pomegranate seeds! Look at how pretty it is!

Uncle Cendol also serves rojak! It's called the "Uncle Cendol Rojak Buah" on the menu.

Honestly speaking, this was the first time I have tried rojak. Yes. As a Malaysian, who grew up in Malaysia, I have not tried rojak before. Or maybe I have but I blocked it out of my memory or something.

The rojak to me was sweet, but I don't have any other experience to draw from. It was very good and I'm glad I decided to try it. ^^

Now let's move on to the main dishes! Like their tagline, "It's not just cendol." In fact, the staff at Uncle Cendol are happy to tell you about the other things they have on their menu. So don't be afraid to ask!

We got a bunch of different things from Char Kuay Teow to Curry Noodles. I honestly was worried that we wouldn't be able to finish everything, but you should never underestimate a bunch of hungry Malaysians. XD

This is their "Burger Uncle Cendol" and is one of their signature dishes. It looks heavenly, no? It's basically like a rendang burger and is served with a side of fries. As someone who doesn't eat spicy food, this was a little too spicy for me. I did try it, but my tongue didn't much appreciate it.

If you like spicy food, rendang and burgers, then be sure to try the "Burger Uncle Cendol"!

Next are the "Curry Noodles" and the "Nasi Terapung".

As I've mentioned before, I don't eat spicy food so I skipped the Curry Noodles. However, everyone did say that it was quite good. ^^

Their "Nasi Terapung" reminds me of the Neopolitan ice cream. The ice cream with three different flavors in one. haha. Underneath all that yummy sauce and rice is a little surprise! I guess that's why they call it Nasi Terapung, cause the rice is "floating" on the chicken? haha

Last but not least is my favorite, their Char Kuay Teow. It was pretty spicy, but it didn't stop me from eating it. After all, I had a glass of Cendol Nata De Coco to keep my burning tongue company. >w<

All in all, it was a very good meal! :) I enjoyed their desserts, tried new things and all of it was spent in the company of cool people!

I swear, I am never ready in any of these photos....  =.= But here's a commemorative selfie!

In the future, Mr. Bashir hopes to open more outlets by next year in 2017. So you might just see a few more Uncle Cendols popping up here and there!

But before that happens, drop by Uncle Cendol if you're anywhere near Brem Mall in Kepong! ^^
