Dragon Run 2016 Teaser: Test Your Limits!

Want to run through into the mouth of a dragon? Do a flying kick while flying off a gigantic slide? Or maybe you would like to bob and weave through a minefield of giant sumo heads?

Dragon Run has it all!

Last weekend on the 8th of April 2016, I was privileged enough to be able to attend the Dragon Run Preview event at Genting Highlands. It was an amazing day full of running, jumping, falling and rolling but before I get into that, I'd like to tell you a little bit about Dragon Run.

What is Dragon Run?

Dragon Run is the world's first martial arts inflatable obstacle race. It is designed for those who love martial arts, running or for those who just want to be active while having fun! It is a 6 KM run that is not only challenging but visually stunning as well.

From the preview that I had the privilege to attend, I could already see that they had a whole line of amazing inflatable obstacles lined up for their participants. We only experienced 5 but there are a total of 10 different obstacles for you to test yourself and enjoy.

Below are some of the obstacles you can find during the Dragon Run.

Obstacle 1
The 60 meter long giant dragon is designed to test your endurance, balance and agility. This was super difficult to get through. I can tell you that much.

Obstacle 2
The Palm Tree Training Forest has a line of inflatable palm trees where you get to practice your punching, kicking and stamina.

Obstacle 3
The Muay Thai boxing ring. It is an inflatable ring with targets which you can practice your combos on.

Obstacle 4
The Wobbly Sumo Heads obstacle is one of my favorites! You have to make your way through these sumo heads. Be careful of your surroundings because someone might just push a sumo head into you.

Obstacle 5
Balance, strength and timing are needed in this obstacle if you don't want to get wet. haha I have a feeling I'll butt first into that pool.

Obstacle 6
This obstacle is designed to give your legs one of the most intense workouts of your life. I think I'll be crawling to the next obstacle after this one.

Obstacle 7
You have to find your way out of the maze while kicking a number of targets and doors.

Obstacle 8
After bouncing around the Yin Yang Gate you get to cool down with a run through the water gate! We only got to play with the Yin Yaag Gate though.

Obstacle 9
Another balancing act is needed for this obstacle as you try to get across without falling and getting wet.

Obstacle 10
This obstacle is the Dragon Run's big boss! It is a giant inflatable slide that lets you strike your best martial arts pose as you emerge on the other side! Super fun!

On the day of the event, we were required to change into these cool Dragon Run shirts. For those of you thinking of joining this event, you might want to bring an extra layer just in case. Although these shirts weren't at all see-through when they get wet.

After a brief opening ceremony, we were left to our own devices. There's nothing like a mob of clueless media people running through obstacles. Seriously. It was a sight to behold. I actually struggled on the first obstacle. I didn't think that they would be that bouncy.

Along with the T-shirts came a goodie bag filled with a cool looking medal, a cookie and a cupcake and other cool stuff. :)

Although the rain made it super difficult to get through some of the obstacles and even made so they had to close down some of them, it was part of the experience. Even though we were soaked, tired and sore, it was a great day.

A special thanks to Citrine one and the Dragon Run team for the invitation!
