There's a new trend in the beauty industry. It's not so new anymore, but I'm going to be talking about it anyway.
I really like snails. I really do. I think they're adorable and try my best to not step on any whenever I go for a walk after it rains. I never thought I'd be using a hand cream made from the things snails excrete.
If you didn't know, snails excrete a thick fluid to protect themselves when they're agitated. Scientists (I don't know why they decided to do this but since you can, why not right?) found that the slime excreted by snails had the potential to "stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, increase fibronectin protein production, and stimulate increased proliferation of fibroblasts".
In short, snail slime has the potential to be used to help reduce wrinkles and skin ageing.
After hearing all these wonderful things about snail products, I decided to try out Sooae Snail Hand Cream. I didn't want to spend too much on something I could be allergic to as I have sensitive skin. The Sooae hand cream was extremely affordable and was extremely gentle on my skin.
The product is very light, so if you have a tendency to get very dry skin, you might need to use more than the usual amount.
It doesn't have an overpowering scent. Some of my friends have even said that it smells like soap. So if you don't like hand creams with strong scents, then this hand cream might be for you.
This is what the back of the product looks like.
Overall, it's a very gentle and light hand cream. It doesn't leave a heavy or oily feeling and absorbs really fast into your skin. However, it might be too light for anyone who has very dry skin. You might need to reapply often. That being said, this is a very affordable product for anyone looking to try out these kinds of products.
I bought mine at Qoo10, so if you wanna check it out, try searching there. :)
