I know I'm probably late to the party on this one, but I knew that I was going to be terribly hooked on this game the first time everyone started talking about it. And I was so effing right.
If you've been living under a rock and have never heard of Neko Atsume, WELL I HAVE SOME NEWS FOR YOU.
It's a game available on Android and iOS devices. Is super adorable, simple and can turn into a minor obsession especially if you have tendencies towards hoarding and love cats (both of which I have). Neko Atsume or ねこあつめ in Japanese is translated to Kitty Collector. And that's what you basically do throughout the game. You collect cats. No. Seriously. That's what you do.
Sounds harmless right? hahahahahahaha...... (._.)
All you have to do in this game is purchase items from the in game shop (which you pay for with fish that the cats leave behind every time they visit you) and place them around areas in your yard. As you can see on the bottom of the screenshot above, the number of fish I have. The best thing about this game is that some kitties
do leave you gold fish. However, you can purchase them as well.
Different cats like different items. So you have to put out different items every time if you're aiming for a specific type of cat. Some of the rarer cats are hard to get such as Tubbs and Mr, Meowgi. There's a whole list of course and you can google them up. :)

I managed to get a picture of Tubbs and I love him cause he's so adorable! haha Look at him all full after finishing the food.
When cats visit, you can take snaps of them and even of your whole screen. Each cat interacts differently with differnt objects so you can snap them and look at them after they leave. :) You can also check their profile.
If you want to try this app out for yourself, just search for Neko Atsume in the App Stores on your iOS or Android device. :) You'll be able to pick between Japanese and English when the app starts. The game will run you through a tutorial and you will get your first cat!

Some things to remember about this game are:
- Close the app. Just close the app, forget about it and check on it later to see if any cats visited you. You can't cheat by clsoing and opening the app immediately. You have to wait.
- Refill your food bowl. Cats won't visit if you don't have any yummy snacks out for them.
- Switch it up. Use different items for the shop if you find that the same cats keep visiting you. Different items attract different cats. :)
